Peep valve
PEEP Valve
Used directly with a Manual resuscitator, its function is to establish a positive pressure in the lungs after exhalation to avoid alveolar collapse. Medical conditions that require the use of a positive pressure valve include pulmonary edema, drowning/or near drowning accidents, suction, chest trauma, and carbon dioxide inhalation.
PEEP Valve is an auxiliary means of ventilation to maintain lung capacity. At the end of the exhalation, PEEP Valve generates pressure to counteract the passive emptying of the lungs and make the airway pressure maintain above atmospheric pressure. PEEP Valve can open collapsed or unstable alveoli, and increase lung capacity and gas exchange surface area.
